Abstract:In addressing various challenges associated with the settling process of superfine total tailings from a specific copper mine, including issues of low underflow concentration and slow settling velocity, a series of systematic measures were implemented. Firstly, through meticulous experimental design, a comprehensive physicochemical analysis was conducted on key experimental materials involving the mine slurry tailings. Based on these in-depth research findings, an extensive selection and comparison process among multiple candidate flocculants was carried out, leading to the determination of the most suitable flocculant type through parameter optimization. This study provides robust theoretical and practical support for overcoming performance bottlenecks in the slurry flocculation and settling process, significantly enhancing the efficiency of flocculation and settling. The investigation delved deeply into the impact of factors such as total tailings slurry concentration, flocculant dosage, and flocculant solution concentration on the superfine total tailings flocculation and settling process. The research results reveal that the flocculation and settling of superfine total tailings are influenced by the interaction of various factors. Through regression analysis, the optimal parameter combination was successfully determined, which involves a total tailings slurry concentration of 10%, a flocculant dosage of 20 g/t, and a flocculant solution concentration of 0.05%. These parameter settings exhibited the most favorable effects in the flocculation and settling process of superfine total tailings.This study not only offers valuable guidance for practical mining operations but also serves as a reference for subsequent parameter optimization endeavors. Through the refinement of flocculant selection and parameter adjustment, further enhancement of the flocculation and settling process of superfine total tailings can be achieved, resulting in improved underflow concentration and settling velocity, thus elevating the efficiency of mining production.
